Burnt.. and Productive

Good News, we just booked our flight to Sydney For Monday at 3pm. Time for a change of scenery and new experiences. Maybe Sydney zoo will let me hold a Koala. Im determined. As some of you may be shocked, I am so sun burnt. I didnt wear any sun screen. It was very windy and i anticipated a nice bronze color. I am going to have the most uncomfortable sleep in my hot hostel room tonight. Serves me right. We had a wonderful picnic today on the beach with a spread of cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine. I drank most of the wine ( like mother like daughter.) We also decided to have a welcome home BBQ for Megan, my girlfriend from Calgary who just arrived here today with us. We had Kebabs, sausages, salad and rice. VERY TASTY.Tomorrow we are going to another beach about an hour from our hostel. There is also talk about taking a girlfriends car in sydney and driving it up the coast. Unfortunately the registration hasnt been switched over from the seller, so that should be interesting if we get pulled over, would we get a ticket? thoughts? Might just have to pull the "im from canada, sorry officer." Anyways, time to catch the tram back to our hostel. . xoxo Love Carly
Ps For all of you wanting to see the severity of my burn here is a nice bum shot. Hope your enjoying the snow! haha

    Hi Carly:
I'll be following your blog and looking forward to seeing where you go, what you do and the Aussie's you meet along the way. Can't wait for you to blow into your first didgeridoo. Post lots of picutes (sunburn and all). I'm sure you are aware that Queensland is experiencing severe flooding right now so check the conditions before you head north or you may be swimming in your car. Lots of love and wishes for a fantastic time backpacking. Uncle Bob

I don't want to burst your bubble... But it is actually against the law to hold a koala in the state of New South Whales :( There is a small zoo that I went to where you can pet them however. You also get to pet kangaroos and wallabies. If you want me to I can look up the name of the place. It was a good trip to burn a few hours. Hope you're having fun!
